Fortepiano player Mayumi Eguro and the Dutch natural horn player Hylke Rozema will give 3 concerts using authentic instruments for the music from 1800. In their attempt to come close to the sound of the 19th century, Mayumi and Hylke found matching old authentic instruments. As well as they have been studying the culture and style of playing of the early music.
Natural horn playing is hardly heard in Japan. The instrument has no valves and the player has to shape the right hand in the bell to produce a melody.
Mayumi will play a fortepiano which was built in 1809 in Prague. The fortepiano is the contemporary name of the instrument used and recommended by composers like Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. Mayumi has been studying the fortepiano in Amsterdam for 5 years. Together with Hylke, she gives frequently concerts in the Netherlands. These young players from the Netherlands will produce 3 concerts in a row for the Japanese audience. The selected concert halls have excellent acoustics for ensembles with authentic instruments. The audience can enjoy every detail.
The collaboration of these musicians from Japan and the Netherlands can support the cultural exchange between these countries.
