Hofreis – Big Walk 2009
In 2009 The Netherlands and Japan will celebrate a milestone. We will commemorate the 400th anniversary of commercial relations, which date back to 1609, when Tokugawa Ieyasu issued an official trade permit to The Netherlands.
We celebrate the 400th anniversary and two country walkers appear again De Hofreis[Edo sanpu] from the remains of the Hirado Dutch Trading Post in Nagasaki Prefecture to Edo-Nihonbashi in Tokyo. We hope to exchange so many peoples, and observe the history of interchange of the two countries and left culture, make more deepen relations for our two countries.
