Everyday life Another space

Since its opening in 1974, Kanagawa Kenmin Hall has introduced contemporary art in its gallery space (5 rooms, 1300m2). This exhibition will be created by 6 artists working in and out of Japan to celebrate the 35th anniversary. The concept of the exhibition is "everyday life", and each artist will create their presentation using completely different materials and forms. This will be her first exhibition in Japan for Keiko Sato who resides in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. She will be using a great amount of tree trunks, dirt, plants, tableware, and construction debris in the largest exhibition room of 700m2).This room will also exhibit the traditional Japanse "Shomyo (Buddhist book of literature)", Rakugo (Japanese comedy monologue), and dance performance, which will be an experimental collaborative work crossing the borders art genre of Sato's artwork and performing arts.
This project is joined by Dirk P Haunbrich (Composer; Denhaag, The Netherlands), Megumi Nakamura (member of Netherlands Dans Theater 1991-1999; performed in a number of stages choreographed by Jiri Kylian), and world-reknowned ballet dancer, Yasuyuki Shuto, and collaborated in an cultural exchanbe between the Netherlands and Japan.
